Free browser game alternative to Fortnite

Build Royale is a free battle royale action web browser game that lets you fight and build your way to survival. Developed by Mathew Matakovic and Joel Owen, Build Royale’s premise is highly similar to Fortnite’s, wherein you can harvest natural resources and build fortifying structures aside from just using the preset shelters on the map. However, this browser game is played on top-down perspective and features cute hand-drawn 2D art models rather than Fortnite’s 3D designs. If you’re looking for a completely free shooter game that still uses Fortnite’s cool concept, you may want to try out Build Royale on your browser.

Fortnite is widely popular for being a fun battle royale and last man standing type of game—and it’s unique from other similar titles because of its construction mechanic. Fortnite is first and foremost a survival game, so you’re allowed to make use of the environment and craft your own fortresses to better stay alive. As such, the concept of multiplayer survival shooters has been expanded even further. In Build Royale, this stays mostly the same and the main distinction is its graphic design and perspective.

Here, you enter the battle looking at your character in a top-down view. The controls are the default ones in shooters—although you can reassign keys in the settings. You can choose to join Solo, Duo, or Squad battles, and there are a few seconds of waiting before the match starts. You are then randomly teleported somewhere in the map and now have to go find weapons, bullets, potions, and a house to take cover in—or you can just build one since you get free materials at the start.

It’s pretty easy to die when you begin, as there is no protective gear to pick up and few bullets can kill you depending on the level of the weapon. A deadly red zone will start closing in, forcing you to move closer and closer to other players until you engage. Everything is pretty standard here and much of your enjoyment will be based on how well your luck and skills pan out. If you want a different rhythm to shooter games, this is a nice recommendation.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
